Readiness Dashboard
Your budget, power and water, the Readiness Checklist (Chapter Twenty-Seven) and the Competence Ladder (Chapter Thirteen) from So You Think You Want to Sail the World?, all in one place. Your numbers save in this browser as you go. Nothing is sent anywhere, and there's no sign-in.
Overall readiness
0%
The average of the four areas. This is a prompt for honest conversation, not a pass mark.
1 · Budget
Enter your annual estimate for each line of the book's Sample Annual Budget Worksheet. We add the 20 percent contingency the book recommends and compare the monthly figure with the book's reference ranges for your boat length.
The ranges are approximate 2026 U.S.-dollar planning figures for running the boat, not a guarantee. Build yours from real quotes. Budget counts as ready once every line has a number and the total with contingency is inside or above your range.
2 · Power and water
Power (12 V)
Water
Rough sizing only: solar harvest uses rated watts × sun hours × 0.75 ÷ 12 V. Power and water count as ready when you make at least what you use and you have at least 7 days of water without making more.
3 · The Readiness Checklist
Chapter Twenty-Seven. Tick only what is genuinely in place.
4 · The Competence Ladder
Chapter Thirteen. Someone aboard needs to own each one before a real ocean crossing.
